Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is included with admission?

Admission grants general access to the farm grounds and fishing ponds. This includes the barn, exotic exhibits, playgrounds, eye spy trail, musical forest, picnic tables, and free roaming animals. Admission is required even if you are just fishing.

  • Are you open year round?

We operate March-October. During the spring and fall months we operate Friday-Sunday. In the summer months when school gets out we operate Thursday-Sunday. We are never open 7 days a week to give the animals a rest and rotate pastures.

  • What kind of animals are at the farm?

We have a variety of farm animals and some exotics. Everything from goats, pigs, ponies, donkeys, sheep, rabbits, tortoises and alpacas to kangaroos, camels, emus, wallabies, zebus, cavies, deer, prairie dogs, and a zebra!

  • Where did your animals come from?

90% of our animals were either born at the farm or dropped off for rehoming. We try to educate visitors about the seriousness of getting a pet for their family, as we see so many times animals needing to be rehomed. All of our pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, and some chickens/ducks were all rehomed drop offs. Even our exotic animals such as our camel, zebra, and wallabies all came from people in WA state reselling them. Very seldom do we ‘seek out’ an animal to buy. An example would be needing a new buck to breed with our goats, or a second mini zebu to accompany our single one. We do not have the mindset of “what else can we buy to make people come?”. All of our animals (including our exotics) happen to have just found their home at the farm.

  • Do you sell any of your animals?

Sometimes! We typically have a large goat kid boom in the spring. After they are weaned from mom and socialized here at the farm, they’re ready to go to their new homes! If you have any interest in any future farm babies (of any kind) please email us so we can get in touch!

  • Can I bring my dog?

Pets are not allowed on the property to ensure the safety of both our animals and yours. Remember this is the animals’ home and although your dog may be well behaved, we can’t promise our animals will. Many of our goats will charge at dogs. Other animals in their enclosures would shy away, which lessens your family’s experience.

Only service animals trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability are permitted. If any problems occur whether from our animals or the service animal, the service animal may be asked to leave the grounds. Emotional support animals are not permitted on grounds.

  • Is your farm accessible?

Strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs are able to successfully visit majority of the farm. The only space not wheel friendly is the eye spy trail in the forest. The parking lot and entrance of the farm is loose gravel, with a grass lawn in the yard and surrounding the ponds. Inside the main barn is a paved walkway. Two porta-potties are on grounds, one of which being ADA size.

  • May I bring my own food?

Yes picnic lunches are allowed, but the snacks you bring are for your family only. Only veggie buckets may be given to the animals to ensure quality food control and animals diets. The check in office provides small snacks and beverages for purchase as well. Alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited. Birthday cake, balloons, party favors, etc are for the birthday party rental areas only.

  • Why is the fishing no catch & release?

Trout are very sensitive to trauma and not good catch and release fish. Most of the time the act alone of catching them causes them to go belly up. If they do survive the release they are unlikely to bite again. We also routinely stock the pond with fresh fish. Fish being caught need to get out of the ponds so we can properly replenish.

  • Do you accept volunteers? Are you hiring?

Being that we are not a non-profit we cannot have volunteers on grounds at this time. We typically hire before the start of our season and before the summer months. We always post our hiring status on our facebook page. Employees must be at least 16 and have weekend availability. You are welcome to email us your resume which we can keep on file for future hiring times.
